Episode 033: Why is it "buyer beware" when everyone can be a "coach"? with Tiffany Sparrow

Tiffany Sparrow and I wander into dangerous territory and skate on thin ice with this one. I should start with a disclaimer that we don't mean any offence by anything said during this episode to the coaches and mentors who might listen. We only wanted to hold space to discuss some thoughts we have both had on the unregulated (thankfully) transformational coaching industry.

We both have been burned and blessed by mentors, teachers and coaches... and feel like at times there is a very real gap between what could be happening, should be happening and what is happening...

Join us as we dare to wander here and ask some big questions and talk about ideas to (maybe?) make it better.

“My ideal is for a world where there is more co-creation.” -Tiffany Sparrow

“The overnight expert, positioning yourself as such and the fake it till you make it - we're gambling other people. I see the authenticity lacking in the name of marketing.” -Tiffany Sparrow

“That ability to put self-gratification aside is a really important factor. If we don't, it could have a negative impact on the people we work with.” -Tiffany Sparrow

My bio goes something like this...

I am going to make everything around me beautiful - that will be my life. (Elsie De Wolfe) This quote is my subtle mission in life...

I’m a mom to an amazing little girl, girlfriend to an amazing man, a social marketer with an amazing online values driven company, podcaster, thought leader, and the Editor-in-Chief of an online publication. I find a ton of my life’s joy in connecting people, to other people, places and things.

I love speaking, writing, creating, traveling and connecting. A natural leader and disruptor, I have a passion for helping men and women to trust the niggle (trust themselves), tell the truth (boundaries are an amazing thing) and speak, even when their voice shakes. I'm a champion for the underdog, can't doesn't exist in my vocabulary and I believe that taking radical responsibility in your life changes everything.
